But I have a confession: I’ve become an official birdwatcher. I quickly graduated to birdfeeding because I wanted the house sparrows I was watching to linger. Before I got to know them, I assumed that sparrows were common and uninteresting. But, au contraire, they are more colorful than a man in a cape.
